Friday May 27 5-8!

Above is the dreamer a new piece inspired by the Marcus Amaker poem, 
they say the moonflower blooms at night:


the dreamer wears a crown on his heart
he's been planting flowers in her garden
watering them with jewels
and reaching for silver sunlight
in the morning air


even when his voice is dry,
he floods her door with poems
and takes them, one by one,
drawing lines in the sand.


the dreamer plucks lilies from silence
and lavender from the ether
hoping that love will blossom.
what lies beneath the root is truth,


watered down to the soul.






Marcus will be doing a reading of this and other poems at 5:30 tomorrow at Scoop for my closing reception of Stop Making Fence.  He has also created a new piece inspired by my painting Sleep Owl (see below)!

STOP MAKING FENCE

The opening for my new solo show, Stop Making Fence, is just a couple weeks away.....of course I still have painting to do....

May 6th  5-8 is the date and time for the opening reception.  Please stop by.

If you miss it, we'll be having a closing reception as well May 27th.  Or you can always go on a quiet afternoon to check out the work.

Scoop Contemporary  is located on Broad Street, between Meeting and Church Sts.

RE-NUDE

Wednesday April 13th is RE-Nude, the annual art benefit for Planned Parenthood.

Kulture Klash up next!

Kulture Klash 7 is Saturday April 9th. I'll have some of my "up-cycled" postcards (above) available, as well as a few other paintings.  Come out for a great evening of art, music and food. Its always a blast!

Spring Paintings

Spring is here and preparing for my solo show at Scoop opening May 6th...."Stop Making Fence"
Letting my brush go where ever my mind wants it to.  Its an interesting process that is more difficult than expected.

What is Guerrilla Cuisine?
Well, its Charleston's own underground dining adventure.
You go here: http://guerrillagallery4.eventbrite.com to buy a ticket, then the day of the event you receive an email finding out where its being held. When you arrive at the location you'll find out the menu you are going to enjoy.
It is BYO wine, beer, whatever you'd like to enjoy.  The dinners I've been to have ranged anywhere between 6-9 courses.
Its a low-key casual atmosphere where you meet new people, eat wonderful food, and have a sense of adventure to boot!

Tickets are limited so don't dally.
