Summer Abstracts
Painting non-representational pieces uses a different part of my brain, keeping me balanced for my "other" works. Haven't pushed my abstracts as much but maybe on the horizon that will change.
For more abstract pieces please check out my website.

Trees Need HOME(s)
So these 24" x 60" wood panels need a new home.
Panel 1 has a spring blossom tree on one side and an orange tree on the other.
Panel 2 has a birch tree on one side and an oak on the other.
Either hang in a space, perhaps as a partition of sorts or hang against a wall, when you get tired of one side you have a painting on the other so you can switch it up.
Also I have a Pink Blossom fabric scroll needing a home.
Its 26" x 84".
Email me: vertindigo@gmail.com if interested.

Libertas
This diptych, Libertas, was inspired by the quote: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb."
There are other versions of this quote and it has been mis-attributed to Ben Franklin. Not sure who actually "said" it, or the variations.
Nevertheless, this is my version. The handkerchief has written, "Libertas Cibum" latin for "free food".
There are many other "symbols" in this piece. See if you can figure them out.

Summer
So its summer and I've enjoyed painting one of my favorite things....fruit and veggies. Its been awhile since using them as a subject, but perhaps the summer heat and craving for eating on the lighter side has inspired the paintings. After seeing my Strawberry Grenade (look at earlier blog post) painted for Guerrilla Cuisine, a fellow painter commissioned the Tomato Grenade II.
More summer paintings to come......
